He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Bowman and Violet Bowman (Davis); his wife Helen Bowman (Flora); his daughter Rhonda Shales; and his siblings, June Ramey, Mildred Hill, Kay Wright, Charles "Corky" Bowman and James "Dub" Bowman.
He is survived by: his children, Samantha Bowman Hunt (Nate McCuan) and David Bowman; his grandchildren, Tabitha Shales, Kaci Featherston (Josh), Autumn Sutton (Matt), Lindey Mangold (Michael) and Jay Hunt; his great grandchildren, Evan Hornback, Brodi Hornback, Kate Sutton and Jenson Featherston; and his sister Dee Costos. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
