She was predeceased by: her mother Mary R. Singleton; and her son Robert Lyday. She is survived by: her husband Gary Faulkner; her daughter Kathy Walters; her granddaughter Taylor Walters; her stepchildren, Todd Faulker (Kim), James Michael Faulkner, Gary Faulkner Jr. and Kerri Bagwell (Billy); her stepgrandchildren, Kirsten Simpson (Thomas), Garrett Bagwell and Jalyn Faulkner; her stepgreat-granddaughter Margaret Ann Simpson; and her stepbrother Robert Dubree.

Memorials may be made in Shirley's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
