He was predeceased by: his parents, Andy Mason and Lena Mason (Sheneman); and his siblings, Nick Mason (Wanda), Ed Mason (Margaret), Frank Mason (Helen), Bob Mason (Georganne), Pat Mason, Helen Greco (Sam), Betty Smith (Bob), Ruth Killion (Bill), Hazel Peters (John), Dorthea McElderry (Jim), Carolyn Johnson (Bill) and Judy May (Donald).
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Mason; his children, Jeff Mason (Angie) and Joanie Johnson; his grandchildren, Justin Mason (Kaitlin) and Katie Mason (Ben); his great grandchildren, Paul Mason and Jack Mason; and his sister-in-law Carol Mason. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home (620 Pulaski St, Lincoln, IL 62656). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Irish Grove Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the SIU Medicine Smith Alzheimer's Center and will be accepted at the funeral home.
