She was predeceased by: her parents, John Miller and Nellie Miller (Davis); her husband Orville Allen Shields; her children, Michael Shields and Robin Boyd; and her siblings, John Miller Jr., Mary Sims and Barbara Mowell.

She is survived by: her son Orville Shields (Roberta); her grandchildren, Kelly Fratzke (Andy), Kari Weber, Kim Watkins (Craig), Eric DeSmet (Meredith), Heather Sneath (Shaun), Tyler Boyd, April Cook (Andrew) and Lauren Shields; her siblings, Janet Manary and Waldo Miller; and her close friends, Diane Miller, Kathy Paulsen and Ellen Derrer. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson.
