He was predeceased by: his parents, James Moore and Florence Moore (Stewart); and his sisters, Peggy and Carol. He is survived by: his wife Judy Moore of Milledgeville; his children, Cristy Moore of Detroit, MI and Jesse Moore of Detroit, MI; and his brother Robert Moore (Jane) of Essexville, MI. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial has been established to the Milledgeville Fire Department.
