He was predeceased by : his parents, Stanley Simpson and Anna Simpson; his brother Samuel Warren Simpson (late Charlotte Simpson); his daughter-in-law Kathy Simpson; and his grandson-in-law Jared Emig.

He is survived by : his wife Helen Simpson; his children, Jim Simpson, Pat Hart (Randy), Sue Simpson and Nancy Robertson (Jason); his grandchildren, Kim Stambaugh (Jason), Steve Simpson (Ashlee), Jen Murguia (Javy), Christy Hart, Lisa Emig (Justin Detmer) and Michael Robertson; and his great grandchildren, Alejo, Teryn, Bella, Hudson Simpson, Andrew Stambaugh, Marco, Arianna Murguia, Briar and Lennon Emig. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
