He was predeceased by : his former life partner Marta; his father Joseph (Lenna); and his brother Thomas Butts (Judy). He is survived by : his wife Kathy Koenig; his children, Joseph Butts (Becky), Christa DiPasquale (Tony), David Butts (Nicky) and James Butts (Jessica); his grandchildren, Will, Reid, Jaylan Butts, Max, Ean DiPasquale, Mallory Bryant (William), Sam, Maggie Butts and Nolan Butts; his sister Nancy Taylor; and his cousin James Butts. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation, the Alzheimer's Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or the Camille Julia Morgan Arthritis Research and Education Foundation.
