He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Solonka and Jenny Solonka; his wives, Shirley and Joyce; and his siblings, Emil "Butch" Jr., Eugene and Elsie.

He is survived by: his children, David Solonka (Dawn), Carl Solonka, Jr., Laurie Solonka, Melissa Pomeroy (William) and Randy Solonka (Staci); and his sister Frances Dean (late Jim). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
