The memory of Alex H. Giertych of Mokena, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on April 18, 2024 at the age of 91, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by : his parents, Alex Giertych and Julia Giertych; his wife Marian R. Giertych; his daughters, Theresa Golaszewski and Annette Ondrejka (Jeff); his brothers, Henry Giertych (late Eleanor), Alfred Giertych (late Rita) and Edmund Giertych (Patricia); and his siblings-in-law, Joseph Barker (late Virginia), Florine Gartland (late Thomas) and Aloysius Bartkiewicz.

He is survived by : his children, Stephen Giertych, Nancy Pearson (Charles) and Joseph Giertych (Christine); his grandchildren, Daniel, Heather, Robert, Laura, Michelle, Alison, Megan, Mary and Kevin; his great grandchildren, Rileigh, Hunter, Chase, Camryn, Ryan, Hanna, Johnny, James, Tyler and Rebecca; his sister-in-law Sylvia Jablonski (late Albin); and his friend Stanley "Babe" Buchnat. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel (102 East Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451). A Mass was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the St. Jude Catholic Church (241 W 2nd Ave, New Lenox, IL 60451). A burial was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (801 Michigan City Rd, Calumet City, IL 60409).
