He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Whitcomb and Sena Whitcomb; and his daughter Cheryl. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Anne Epperly; his children, Mark Whitcomb, Suzanne (Sally Mulvaney), Christine Ashley, Cynthia Whitcomb and Bettendorf; his grandchildren, Mark, Anthony, Andrew, Daniel and Kayla; his great grandchildren, Lena, Lucius and Jaxon; and his brother Edward Whitcomb (Doris).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
