He is survived by: his parents, Melissia Burhans (McConnell) of Portland, TX and Don Thompson (Janine); his sister Maranda Burhans of Austin, TX; and his fiancé Devon Honn of East Moline. He is also survived by his many friends who saw him as a brother.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Island County Humane Society.
