He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Whiteside and Jennie Whiteside (Nelson); and his sister Dolores Walker. He is survived by: his wife Jill Petrie; and his children, Dr. Ann Bova, Dan Whiteside (Kathy) of Cobden, IL., Linn Crivelli (David) of Scotts Valley, CA., Lars Whiteside of Anna, IL. and Neil Whiteside (Casey) of Waco, TX.. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. (3030 7th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201). A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Midwest Writing Center, Rock Island or to the New Windsor Cemetery Improvement Fund.
