He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Patterson and Violet Patterson (Malcolm); his wife Darlene Anderson; his sons, Jeff (Sheri Patterson) and Jon (Valerie Patterson); his grandchildren, Michael (Laurie Patterson), Brian (Sonya Patterson), Jennifer (Shawn Holland), Brittany Patterson, Daniel Patterson and Katlyn Patterson; his great grandchildren, William, Emilia, Samuel, Pierce and Knox Patterson; and his siblings, Jeannette Clendenny of Jerseyville, Illinois. and Malcolm Patterson.
