He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Walter and Minnie Johnson (Rosene); his former wife Helen Freeman; his wife Betty Turner; his siblings, Clayton Johnson, Richard Johnson, David Johnson, Lucille Sherer, Joyce Livengood and Shirley Miller; and his nephew Gregg Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Janice Golz (Greg) of Rock Island, Georgette Dacon (Dave) of Port Charlotte, Marilyn King (Mike) of Murrieta and Darryl Johnson (Kelly) of Moline; his stepson Michael Purcell (Patricia) of Crest Hill, Illinois; his grandchildren, Nick Golz (Mallika), Paul Golz (Stacey), Anna Thomas, Cody Race, Aaron Wells (Callie), Holly Johnson (Nick), Corey King (Vanessa), Chelsie Holke (Steven Lynch), Chad Crotts (Kelsey) and Chase Johnson; and his siblings-in-law, Marty Johnson and Jack Miller. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
