He was predeceased by: his parents, Byrel Rushing and Eunice Rushing (Frost); his siblings, Wayne, Glenn, Bob and Rose; his stepdaughter Debbie Dzekunskas; and his son-in-law Troy Schutt.

He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his children, Kelly Schutt, Scott Rushing, Kari Andrew (John) and Luke Rushing (Gina); his stepdaughter Vickie McKenzie (Cal); and his brothers, David Rushing (Marsha) and Jim Rushing. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
