He was predeceased by: his parents, William Minear and Florence Minear (Rasche); and his sister Pamela Minear. He is survived by: his children, Kathryn Steele of East Moline, Wendy Lionheart (Cassidy) of Knoxville and Gregory Minear (Mandy Davis) of East Moline; his grandchildren, Dante, Shania Lionheart, Izy Davis and Maria Gonzalez-Davis; his great grandchild Noami; and his brother William Minear of Chicago.
