She was predeceased by: her parents, William Hardy Sr. and Helen Marguerite McAdams (Davis); her husband Joe; her children, Joseph and Sheiron; her grandson C. J.; her brother William "Willie" McAdams; her sisters-in-law, Charlotte and Rev. Juanita McAdams; and also Marie Davis.
She is survived by: her daughters, Stephanie, Saundra, Susan and Sheila; her grandchildren, Kim Cooper, Corey Anders (Elisa), Kendall Miles (Tommy), Shawntelle Thornton, Ronald Edwards (Aretha), Justin Edwards (CeCe), Jordan, Jessica Edwards, Lateef, Kenya Allen-McDowell, Brittany Lang (Phil), Cheyenne Banks, Dimitri, Richard and Rodney Cooper; her brother Rev. David McAdams; and her cousins, Elaine Chisholm and Gilbert Davis (Ida Jo). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends who became adopted family.
