She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Walt Dismer and Marie Dismer (Wagner); her former husband Frederick Van Acker; her husband Richard Steelman; her son Greg VanAcker (Ellie) of Sacramento, CA; her grandchildren, Jessica, Robert and Thomas; her great grandchildren, Louise and Evelyn; her sister Betty Newcomb (Davenport); her daughter-in-law Kathy VanAcker (Bettendorf); her sister-in-law Connie Dismer; her son Michael VanAcker; and her brothers, Walter and Wayne Dismer. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be made to Salem Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society.
