He was predeceased by : his parents, Kenneth P. Barr and Betty J. Wilkinson Barr; and his siblings, Sharon Rogerson and Perry Barr. He is survived by : his wife Ellen Anderson; his children, Jennifer Ekstam (Eric) of Coal Valley, Jeannette Smith (Jon) of Geneseo, Jeremy Barr (Rebecca) of Moline and Jacob Barr of Moline; his grandchildren, Evan Ekstam, Andrew Ekstam, Jillian Smith, Josie Smith, Carly Barr and Macy Barr; and his brother Terry Barr (Jill).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Moline High School Athletic Department.
