He was predeceased by: his grandparents, John, Helen Koch, Robert and Beverly Douglas; and his cousins, Wayne Koch Jr. and L. J. Marak.
He is survived by: his parents, William Koch of Palatine, IL and Dawne Koch (Douglas); his wife Jennifer Welvaert-Koch; his children, Alexander Welvaert, Eva Koch and Adeline Koch of Moline, IL; his mother-in-law Mona Welvaert of Silvis, IL; his stepmother Carol Welvaert of Moline, IL; and his siblings, Karrie Buckman (Eric) of Ballwin, MO and Bill Koch (Jill) of Excelsior, MN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory (6601 38th Ave, Moline, IL 61265). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made out to the family to be used to support his legacy around mentorship in engineering.
