He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl D. Melin and Dorothea Melin (Charlberg); his wives, Rita Melin (Sovey) and Marlowe Ogden (Glenn); and also Roma Medd (Ronald).
He is survived by: his sons, Kristopher Melin (Ashley) of Tucson, AZ, Dr. Kory Melin (Michelle) of Coal Valley, IL, Kullen Melin (Melinda) of Moline, IL and Dr. Kurtis Melin of Spartanburg, SC; and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Daniel, James, Samantha, Mikayla, Lauren and Jackson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Salem Lutheran Church, Moline, IL.
