He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Spiegel and Carol Spiegel (Rosenburg); and his brother Larry Spiegel. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn A. Atkinson; his sons, Caleb Spiegel (Caitlin) of Sioux City, IA and Luke Spiegel (Emily Vershaw) of Bloomington, IL; his siblings, Sharon Wiemers, Joyce Spiegel, Trisha Andrews, Joseph Spiegel, Kathy Spiegel and Tom Spiegel; and his aunt Beatrice Rosenburg.

Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center (Rock Island County Humane Society) or to a Homeless Shelter of your choice.
