It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marlyss M. Abel (Moline, Illinois), who passed away on June 25, 2025, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Marlyss may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Marlyss touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Merle Ruhs and Muriel Ruhs (Swanson). She is survived by: her husband Ron; her children, Jessica Herrick (Brandon), Lillian Herrick, Andrew Herrick, Brandi Cook, Jeff Abel and Angela Abel-Strauss; and her siblings, Mark Ruhs and Martha Anderson (Kent). She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the First Covenant Church (3303 41st St, Moline, IL 61265). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
