He was predeceased by: his parents, Marjorie Lee McGuire (Johnson) and LeRoy Jackson Johnson; and his brother-in-law Gerald Danielson. He is survived by: his wife Velinda Beatrice Johnson; his stepchildren, Chad, Stephanie DeWitte of Milan, IL., Mayla DeWitte of Davenport, IA and Darcie DeWitte; his grandchildren, Alyssa Walton of Omaha, NE, Aj Williams, Owen Reid and Lilly Reid; his great grandchild Euro Williams; and his siblings, Phillip, Phoebe Johnson of Monmouth, IL., Janet, John Bell of Moline, IL and Judy Danielson of Bloomington, IL.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A procession will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home (3030 7th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Rock Island National Cemetery (5001 34th Ave, Moline, IL 61265).
