With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Nellie L Van Vooren of Moline, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 8, 2026 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Westphalen and Artelia Westphalen (Meyer); her husband Walter O. "Red" VanVooren; her son Donald; her grandson Andrew; and her daughter-in-law Laura.

She is survived by: her children, Pattee Esptein (Ron), Bettendorf, Kathleen Johnson (Marte), David VanVooren of Naperville, IL and Danial VanVooren (Brenda); and her siblings, Carol and Richard Westphalen. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.

Memorials can be made to Sacred Heart Church or Seton School.
