She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard W. Short and Evelyn H. Short (Culley); and her brother James Short. She is survived by: her husband Jerry L. Smith; her children, Michelle Talbot of Moline, IL and Charles Smith (Marianne) of Madison, WI; her grandchildren, Isaac Siess, Ryder Talbot and Hadley Talbot; and her brother Michael Short (Patricia) of Buford, GA..
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory (6601 38th Ave, Moline, IL 61265). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
