He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Otis Gesling and Ruth Gesling (Becker); his wife Bonnie; and his children, Robert (Carrie) of Blue Grass, Linda (Steven Ozanne) of Falcon Heights, Diane (Bernard Bober) of Lancaster and Nancy (Robert Bell) of Port Orford, Oregon. He was also cherished by 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
