He was predeceased by: his parents, Hjalmar Liljeberg and Mary Liljeberg (Voight); his siblings, Lois Liljeberg and Howard Liljeberg (Jack Liljeberg); and his grandson Nathan Maxwell.

He is survived by: his children, Cindy Maxwell (Larry), Chris Sargent (Steve), Dan Liljeberg and Gretta Wells (Jim); and his grandchildren, Noah Maxwell (Chelsee), Britta Maxwell, Callie Frizzell (Connor), Jenna, Logan Liljeberg, Ellen Gillman (Kevin) and Allison McIntyre (Brendan). He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
