He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmanuel Nye and Hilma Nye (Sand); his former wife Frances Fleagle; his daughter Ann Hunter-Broughton; and his grandson Steven McKean.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Hoffmann (Suhorepetz); and his children, Jim Nye (Pam), Gayle Derrick, Lisa Miller (Mike) and Bettendorf. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Alzheimer's Association or Scott County Humane Society.
