He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Braaten and Caroline Braaten (Sibbe); his son Aaron; and his siblings, Willard, Roger Braaten, Grace Mueller, Sibyl Grubisich and Jacqueline Stone.

He is survived by: his spouse Terry Schultze; his children, Jennifer Radosevic (Michael) of Menomonee Falls, WI, Eric Braaten (Shannon) of Bells, TX and Andrew Braaten (Carmen); his daughter-in-law Ronna Braaten (Bettendorf); and his brother Earl Braaten (Lisa) of Oklahoma City, OK.. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or March of Dimes.
