He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Trone and Vivian Trone (Fuqua); his sister Lisa Trone; and his grandson Ellis Poling. He is survived by: his wife Sue; his stepsons, Jacob Poling (Gwen) of Hopkins and Andrew Poling (Kim) of Normal; and his grandchildren, Miles, June Poling, Owen, Taryn, Louis Poling, Delaney, Hudson and Beau Croft. He is also survived by his family, friends.

For those unable to give blood, memorial contributions may be made to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa.
