He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Johnson and Jane Johnson (Wood); his sister Susan Waite; his great grandchild Mila Marie Paytash; and his nephew Darin Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Pam Johnson; his stepchildren, Lisa Paytash of Johnston, IA and Steve Paytash (Cathy) of Moline; his children, Dean Johnson (Shalee) of Geneseo, IL and Adria Johnson of Moline, IL; his siblings, Mike Johnson (Dana), Pat Johnson (Debbie), KC Johnson (Randi) and Bridget Frieden (Mike); his grandchildren, Austin Paytash (Courtney), Trace Johnson (Grace Chen), Ty Johnson, Morgan Hemmen, Zachary Hemmen and Alison Greene (Taylor); his great grandchildren, Graham Greene, Kanan Paytash and Poppy Paytash; and his siblings-in-law, Kevin Nelson and Tracy Klier (Steve). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Animal Aid Humane Society, Moline, or Boys Town.
