He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Akey and Emily Akey (Pillath); his wife Betsy Akey; his brother John Akey; his in-laws, George and Molly Bacon; his siblings-in-law, Bonnie Dickleman and Jay Bacon; his nephew Tim Akey; and his niece Michelle Wolfe.
He is survived by: his children, Lanette Schuster (Tim) of Jim Falls, WI and Dean Akey (Eileen) of Louisburg, KS; his grandchildren, Clay Akey, Emma Taylor, Aaron Grieger and Brooke Grieger; his great grandchild Penelope Grieger; and his sister-in-law Colleen Hickman of Plover, WI. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the Faith United Presbyterian Church and sent to the funeral home.
