He was predeceased by: his father LaVern Root; his sister Sherri Lant (Root); and his son Daniel Gillette. He is survived by: his wife Christine Root; his mother Mary Short; his children, Christopher Root (Becky), Serena Root, Joie Brokaw (Brian) and Michael Gillette (Lusiana); and his brothers, Danny Root (late Deborah), Gary Root (Janet) and Jerry Root. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St Patrick's Catholic Community Center (600 N, Raritan, IL 61471).
