He was predeceased by: his parents, John Avery and Merle Avery (Wolford); his wife Dixie Toops; and his siblings, Walt Avery, Wilber Avery, Betty McMeen, Margie Cameron, Rex Avery and Gerald Avery.
He is survived by: his children, Trent Avery (Jaimie) of Monmouth, IL, Donna Polheber (Ken) of Burlington, WI, Taelor Elliott (Jim) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Tung Holt, Thai Nguyen of Peoria, IL and MyLe Nguyen of Boston, MA.; his grandchildren, Tucker Avery, Tage Avery, Chase Taylor, Sydney Hunter, Whitney Hunter and Easton Elliott; his great grandchildren, Hayden Taylor and Melania Taylor; and his siblings, Jesse Avery, Dorthy Lipes and Tom Avery.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory (1007 North G Street, Monmouth, IL 61462).
