She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, J. Merle Melvin and Erma E. Payne Melvin; her husband Vernon L. Mettler Jr.; her sons, Craig Mettler (Kittie) and Chris Mettler (Christine); her grandchildren, Lindsay (Jared Johnson), Kittie R. (Luke Kjormoe), Alexis (Brian Dykstra), Matthew Mettler of Peoria, IL and Alex (Mallory Mettler); her sister Judy Owens of Warsaw; her sister-in-law Dixie Wells of Monmouth, Illinois.; and her brothers, Billy G. Melvin, Gary C. Melvin and Robert Melvin. She was also cherished by two sons, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Memorial funds are being established for either Faith United Presbyterian Church or educational materials for Monmouth Early Learning Center.
