As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Ellen may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Behnke and Ida Mae Behnke; and her spouse Jerry D. Gard. She is survived by: her daughters, Kelly Boerngen (Wayne) of Mason and Cynthia Dick of Monticello; her grandchildren, Jayson Gard, Jordan Budde (Tyler) and Allyssa Boerngen; and her great grandchild Andrew Budde.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home (215 E Washington St, Monticello, IL 61856). A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Harrison Cemetery West Union.
