She was predeceased by: her parents, Eli DeTar and Hazel DeTar (Deaver); her former husband Joseph T. Houska; and her siblings, Jeannine Marshall, Dean DeTar and Dale Detar.

She is survived by: her children, Julie Houska of Naperville, IL, Brian Houska (Susan) of Anchorage, AK, Jeff Houska (Lacy) of Shelbyville, IL and Steve Houska (Barbara) of Eureka, MO; her sister Lois DeTar of Llano, CA; and her husband Joe. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association or St. Philomena Catholic Church.
