It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert W. Lane (Monticello, Illinois), who passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As we bid adieu to Robert's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Robert has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Owen and Edith Frances Lane (Dalton); and his brother Carl Lane. He is survived by: his children, Tish Lane of Lodge, Tonya Yaden (Chris) of Lodge, Rocky Lane (Shelia) of Monticello, Stoney Lane (Erin) of Monticello and Jeremy Lane of Monticello. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home (215 E Washington St, Monticello, IL 61856). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Lodge Church of God or Town Square Hospice.
