He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard'Buck' Dean and Bonnie Dean (Frye); his daughter Dixie Dean; and his brother Dick Dean. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Dean of Monticello; his children, Debbie McGraw (Terry) of Savoy and Doug Dean (Paula) of Champaign; his grandchildren, Brandi Dawson (Sherfield), Andrew McGraw (Morgan), Carissa Dean Hodis (Thomas) and Christian Dean; his great grandchildren, George, Chloe, Max Dawson, Millie, Memphis, Major McGraw, Olivia Popis, Hensley and Mallory Hodis; and his sister Delores'Snooky'Adkins of Monticello.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home or Maple Point.
