With sadness, we share the passing of Shawn D. Loy of Montrose, Illinois. Shawn, born on May 24, 1975, passed away on October 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his brothers, Shannon and Jeremy; and his grandparents, Lon, May Loy (Newkirk), Elza and Deloris Lilley (Yingst).
He is survived by: his parents, Lonnie Loy and Christy Loy (Lilley); his son Cody Loy (Hayden Welch); his grandson Kaius; his sister Melissa Hildebrand (Shane); his nephew Dalton; and his niece Emma Hildebrand. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Johnson Funeral Home (1110 N 4th St, Effingham, IL 62401). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Loy Chapel Cemetery (9883 N Loy Chapel Rd, Effingham, IL 62401).
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family.
