He was predeceased by: his parents, Gene Franklin and Hermione Franklin (Stevenson); his sisters, Julie Leach (Merle), Jeanne Lobb (Walt) and Joyce Franklin; and his father-in-law Charles William Tabler.
He is survived by: his wife Lee Ann Franklin (Tabler); his sons, Chris Franklin (Tammy) of Knoxville and Jon Franklin (Patricia) of Arlington, Virginia; his grandsons, Cole and Luke Franklin of Knoxville, Tennessee; his brothers, James Franklin (Sonia) of Bangor and John Franklin (Shirley Sinclair) of Morris; his mother-in-law Ramona Tabler of Morris; and his brothers-in-law, Billy Tabler (Betty) of Diamond and James E. Tabler (Pam) of Joliet, Illinois. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
