He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Michaelson and Olive Michaelson; and his siblings, Harold Michaelson, Zelda Schubert, Anna Ballard, Lois Heman, Berdella Stadler and LeRoy Michaelson.
He is survived by: his brother Clifford Michaelson (late Alda); his wife Sandra E.; and his children, Karen Thomas (Brent), Karla Gerding (Michael) and Kurt Michaelson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Helmar Lutheran Church (11935 Lisbon Rd, Newark, IL 60541). A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the Helmar Lutheran Cemetery-Newark (10820 W Helmar Rd, Newark, IL 60541).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Karl's name to Helmar Lutheran Church Mission Fund would be appreciated.
