He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Kenneth Phillips and Vicki Phillips; his wife April Phillips; his sons, Avery and Gage; his siblings, Nicki McKinney (Chad), Chandra Winsor (Jamie), Rob Phillips (Kelly) and Randy Phillips (Tammy); and his son Seneca Fighting Irish.

Memorials may be made in Russel's name to his family to help with funeral expenses.
