He was predeceased by: his parents, William Edward and Velma Smith (Albrecht); and his siblings, Jack Smith (Carol), Betty Cullum (Max) and Velma Doty (Ron).
He is survived by: his wife Pat; his children, Amy Neal of Decatur, Bill Smith (Lisa) of Coal City, Susan Alsip (Dan) of Diamond and Scott Smith (Jean) of Overland Park, Kansas; his grandchildren, Meghan Hodgen (Scott) of Coal City, Marcie Ewenson (Craig) of Ottawa, Brett Smith (Patti) of Coal City, Alec Smith of Coal City and Brandon Neal (Ana) of Richardson, Texas; his great grandchildren, Addison, Averie Hodgen, Hudson and Bryson Smith; his siblings, David Smith (Linda) of Diamond and Paula Runty (Bob) of Covington; and his sisters-in-law, Cathy Mahaney of Mt. Carroll and Jane Rader (Skip) of Loves Park. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
