She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Bielema, and Dorothea Bielema, Jr. (Sterenberg); her children, Rod Van Kooten (Karen) and Cindy Busch (Darrell); her husband Bruce Van Kooten; and her siblings, Bernadine Sanders, Della Tichler, Karen Brands and Joel Bielema.
She is survived by: her children, Sara Vander Kleed (Dave), Melinda Damhoff and Monte Van Kooten. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bosma-Renkes - Morrison Chapel (404 Lincoln Hwy, Morrison, IL 61270). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
