He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred L. Cassens and Dorothy Mae Cassens (Peterkin); his son Jeffrey Cassens; and his brother Richard "Dick" Cassens. He is survived by: his wife Pat; his children, Lisa Cain (Tim) of Rock Falls, IL, Todd Cassens (Wendy) of Downers Grove, IL and Steve Cassens (Lynn) of Morrison, IL; his grandchildren, Shane Bielema, Joshua Bartels (Rande), Alexandra Skura (Brian), Trevor Cassens and Drew Cassens; his great grandchildren, Jaxyn, Wesley Bartels and Luca Skura; and his close friend Piper.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bosma-Renkes - Morrison Chapel (404 Lincoln Hwy, Morrison, IL 61270). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Morrison United Methodist Church (200 W Lincoln Way, Morrison, IL 61270).
