He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Young and Ethel Young (Nelson); and his brother Cecil Young. He is survived by: his wife Norma "Punk" VanderLeest; his sons, Steve Young (Chris) of Morrison, IL and Pat Young (Sara) of Morrison, IL; his grandchildren, Valerie Young (Ozzie Woods), Joey Carber (Dakota), Eryn Pearlman (Matthew) and Dayton Young; and his great grandchildren, Judah and Persephone Woods.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Grove Hill Cemetery East High (400 E High St, Morrison, IL 61270).
A memorial has been established by the family.
