He was predeceased by : his parents, Orville, Sr. Goodenough and Helen Goodenough (Montgomery); and his wife Clara Goodenough. He is survived by : his children, Cathy Anderson, Philip Goodenough (Zarina) and Steve Goodenough (Lisa); his grandchildren, Wendy Hess (Nathan), Ryan Anderson (Jessica), Stephanie McFadden (Danny), Amber Floyd, Megan Rangen (Matthew) and Ethan Goodenough; his great grandchildren, Andrew, Molly, Zachary Hess, Lilian, Jeremiah Anderson, Liam, Oliver, Walker McFadden, Amira, Deja Floyd and Owen Rangen; his sister Carolyn McCue (Bill); and his siblings-in-law, Larry Geerts (Jean), Vera Flood and Audrey Geerts.

A memorial has been established to Stronghold Camp and Retreat Center, P.O. Box 199, Oregon, IL, 61061.
