It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Winnifred Shawver of Morrison, Illinois, born in Iowa City, Iowa, who passed away on February 29, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her mother Ruth Onken; her stepfather Raymond Onken; her great grandchild Kevin Houseman; and her grandson-in-law Ryan Deady. She is survived by : her daughters, Robin Vande Zande of Kent, OH and Darcy Houseman (John) of Morrison, IL; her grandchildren, Scott Houseman (Jamie), Leigh Milnes (Mitch), Lauren Warnock (Jeff), Evan Deady and David Vande Zande; and her siblings, Jane Onken of Morrison, IL, Robert Onken (Jo) of Blue Grass, IA, Larry Onken (Vernie) of Thomson, IL and John Onken (Suzie) of Hudson, WI.. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for the Morrison Public Library in Cookee and Al Shawver's names.
